Biggest myth ever. You do not have to be attractive to publicly speak. You have to be presentable. Your words matter much more than your looks. But you can not, and should not, dress like a slob. Try to look professional. You don’t have to dress for the Ritz Carlton (unless, of course, you’re speaking there), but you should make sure that your hygiene is in pristine condition. Besides, if you worry about your looks too, then your speech may lag behind. Or, if your too good looking, you may come across as artificial.
