You Have To Be Smart To Public Speak
The person who said that you have to be smart really meant you have to be knowledgeable. You should certainly know what you are discussing before you present it. But in no way do you have to have a PhD in political science to give a speech about politics. You just have to understand your topic. In fact, intelligent people have to a little bit careful to not appear too bookish, or a know it all. That’s not to say that being smart doesn’t help you. If you have a broad knowledge of topics, you will have an easier time when the audience has questions for you. But you don’t have to go to an ivy league to become a good public speaker.
